Here in Ireland, we have just had the heaviest snowfall in decades. For many of us, myself included, it was more snow than we had ever seen in our entire lives. It literally froze our country to a standstill. Being confined indoors for the past few days gave me a lot of time to think; more precisely, to think about snow. Snow has always awakened the child in me, as I’m sure it does many others.
I wrote down my thoughts on snow, and decided they would look better in a poem than a standard blog post. As usual, my anxiety has been telling me not to post this, “people will hate it”, “you’re terrible”, yadda yadda. But you’ll never know unless you try and you’ll also never improve. I’m trying out something new here, but I am a fan of poetry so if there’s an interest, I may post more here in the future, or I may set up a separate blog for that sort of thing. Let me know what you think.
